Tanjiro comes from a small, rural village in the Saitama prefecture. Buildings all left over from the Edo period and cars rarely drove down the narrow streets. His family owns a modest bakery, where Tanjiro delivers fresh baked goods around the village to the same faces he's come to know over the years. Of course they have electricity, television.. but he's never travelled outside of his little town. Seeing anything even remotely modern was a rarity, and the newest phone he's come in contact with is the home line and telephone booths outside. So.. getting on a train to travel a few hours south, to the bustling city of Tokyo was a wake up call.
He's only seen Tokyo in postcards or on programs on the television, so seeing it all up close-- heck, riding a modern train alone sent shivers down his spine and he found himself getting quite lost. He doesn't arrive to school until third period and even then he has to take a few minutes just to stare, jaw agape at the tall building in front of him before he gets the guts to go inside. He really feels like this was a mistake, honestly. A small village boy like himself going to UA of all places? What a stroke of luck...
He makes it to the principal's office in one piece, thankfully, and Nexu knows just what to do to calm the boy's nerves. So, he makes a call to Aizawa in the middle of a lecture, and after the call finishes the teacher looks into the small crowd of his curious students, and points towards the green-haired boy sitting near the back.]
Midoriya, Nezu's office.
[Waiting him inside will be the principal, obviously, but accompanied by a scared looking boy with a weird scar on his forehead and a green-and-black checkered haori worn over his uniform. Not to mention those Hanafuda tile earrings of his as well.]
